I guess when I was 16, every now and again I would think, “wow! I am amazing…” or “I did hit that step in an extraordinary fashion…” Its easy to do when you have tens of thousands of people every night screaming your name. Luckily, I never fell into that trap long enough to believe that I was bigger than all of it. Now as an adult, those thoughts never come close to my ego. It’s not about me. Its not about the New Kids. Its about the relationship between us and the fans. The love that it represents is powerful and evidently ever lasting. I am grateful to be a part of it. I had the thought that I would have been just as happy in the crowd at the Kiss Concert watching the New Kids as being up there. There was so much love in that moment that I didn’t care what part I played in it. It just felt good to rejoice over something together with so many people. That being said it was incredible from my perspective.
Everything has gone perfectly. When I look back on The Today Show performance, it just wouldnt have felt right if it didn’t rain. ( I’m sure that the amazing people that showed up for us would beg to differ… “sunny and 70 degrees would have been perfect too, Joe”). When we did that last interview on the stand in the middle of the crowd… Whoa! Another wave of “I thought what we had back in the day was special, but this is crazy!”
This ride has really just begun. We’re gonna have some good times
I’m really excited to put this live show together. What a gift to have such a challenge. I say challenge because although its so much fun, we take it very seriously. We want to put on the show of your life time.
Probably the most often said thing from our fans I hear is ” you guys were my first concert!” And thats a very special milestone to behold and be a part of. We cherish that and want to take that to another level x 20.
We’ll keep you posted. Hopefully, you guys will listen and agree with every amazing idea I have
